iGotYou allows you to identify intruders or theft using alarm notifications, photos, and GPS location tracking. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod, and iPad devices.

Upon the initial launch of the application, users are required to configure their email settings. It is recommended to create a dedicated iGotYou email account using services like Gmail or Hotmail. For example, create a new email account with the format: [email protected]. Adjustments may be needed in Gmail settings to allow for less secure apps if test emails fail to send (details here).

Once you have set up a new iGotYou email account, input the following information within the app:

• Username: [email protected]
• Password: password

After configuring the email settings, verify by clicking on the "Test Email" button to send a test message. Check your inbox or spam folder for this test email.

To complete the setup within iGotYou, return to the main screen and select the "Pattern" button. Choose a unique pattern and remember it.

The app offers three distinct modes:

1. Motion Alert: Notifies you if there is movement around your phone using the device's motion detector.
2. Pocket/Bag Alert: Triggers an alert when someone removes your phone from your pocket or bag through the device's proximity detector.
3. Power Alert: Alerts you if someone unplugs your phone from a power source using the device's power detector.

After selecting an alert mode, activate the app by clicking on "Click Here To Lock." Follow the on-screen instructions provided in a popup message.

• If Motion Alert is chosen, you will have 10 seconds to place your phone on a stable surface after clicking OK.
• If Pocket/Bag Alert is selected, store your phone in your pocket or bag within 10 seconds of confirming.
• If Power Alert is activated, connect your phone to a power source within 10 seconds.

Do not exit the app during these setup phases. Following setup completion, iGotYou operates with minimal power consumption and captures photos from both front and rear cameras when triggered. An alert email including the pictures and device location is then sent to your configured email address. You have 15 seconds to disarm by entering your secret pattern before an audible alarm activates.

Users can adjust settings such as flashlight usage during alarms, saving photos to the camera roll, retry count for pattern entries, sound selection (including None), sound duration, and enabling a beep sound upon detection of an intruder.

To reset your pattern in case of forgetting it when the app is locked, delete iGotYou from the taskbar and reopen it by double-clicking on the Home button.
